Choosing a destination can be tricky but for Taylor it couldn’t have been easier. She is a girl with her sights set on the city. She has many goals for herself. One being, a downtown Kansas City loft! I’d bet my money on her that she will make that happen.
So, for Taylor’s Senior portraits, downtown we went!
We started the day with a hair and makeup appointment with Styled by Braylee. Where we gossiped, speculated who Travis Kelce is dating and got to know each other a little better. It was a good time!
Our session was full of lots of laughs, mostly due to my own clumsiness. Either way, I’m happy to take one for the team. Whatever it takes to get shots like these.
To be fair, this wasn’t the first time Taylor and I have worked together. I met Taylor in the Fall of 2021 when I photographed her and her friends before their Junior Homecoming dance. One of the Moms ended up hiring me to capture their Pre-Prom photos, some of my most loved portraits ever! But, from there I reached out to Taylor multiple times to step in front of my camera as a solo model or with her whole crew.
We photographed at the Lee’s Summit Downtown days, in a sunflower field, at a small Christmas tree farm and even at Rink Ratz. She never hesitated, always had a positive outlook and trusted me along the way.
Each time we got together we felt less like strangers and more like friends. Each time she stepped in front of my camera her confidence grew ten-fold. I think you can see that in this series of portraits.
These portraits in downtown Kansas City were a full circle moment, completion point of our time together. A celebration for how far she has come and to all of the opportunities that are waiting for her. I’ll be cheering you on, Taylor! You’ve got this.
